Potential Pigeons is the first in a series of art projects being developed using high resolution 3D scans of extinct animals. The focus of the project is to explore the relationship between natural, man-made and digital phenomena, in particular the Anthropocene. Find more about the project here.

Ever since being a member of the Young Ornithologists Club and drawing birds as a child, they have fascinated me. After visiting the natural history museum in 2019 and reading about the demise of the passenger pigeon in their anthropocene series, I was struck by their story. Particularly how anthropogenic activities have led to devastating and irreversible changes to our planet like habitat destruction, biodiversity loss and mass extinction events. I believe art is a fantastic narrative device for telling this important story.
